Eats, Shoots & Roots is a social enterprise dedicated to empowering urbanites to reconnect with nature by giving them the skills, tools, and confidence to grow their own food. Founded in 2012, the social enterprise focuses on creating sustainable urban ecosystems through hands-on educational workshops, edible garden builds, and practical gardening products.

HLB has collaborated with Eats, Shoots & Roots to deliver the Garden for Impact initiative—a workshop and CSR programme featuring monthly volunteering opportunities for HLB staff. Through hands-on volunteering at the Sayur In The City @ YWCA urban garden, volunteers help cultivate fresh, organic produce that directly supports the Vocational Training Opportunity Centre (VTOC) students, supplying ingredients for their culinary and baking courses.
