At Hong Leong Foundation (HLF), we take pride in nurturing deserving young Malaysians through our scholarship programme empowering them to excel academically and grow as purposeful future leaders.
Each year, new HLF Scholars embark on a five-day Enrichment Camp to prepare for university life while embracing the Hong Leong Group’s 8 Core Values. Their journey continues through Social Action Projects and a six-month Mentorship Programme that build their skills in leadership, teamwork, and project management, laying a strong foundation for their future success. Building upon this foundation, we are proud to share that HLF Scholar 2023 Emma Anthony continues to shine as an exemplary young leader and innovator.
Emma was selected to join Axiata’s University Leadership Development Programme (ULDP), a prestigious two-week initiative that brings together top Malaysian undergraduates to develop future-ready leadership skills through intensive bootcamps, real-world business challenges, and hands-on simulations.
Emma distinguished herself throughout the programme, emerging as the 2nd Runner-Up in the CEO Challenge with an innovative solution to enhance access to education, a cause deeply aligned with HLF’s commitment to empowering lives through education. She also secured notable placements in several other competitive business simulations.
Just recently, Emma’s leadership journey reached new heights when she received the Asia Young Entrepreneur Award 2025 at the Singapore Institute of Technology for her groundbreaking idea on self-detectable cancer kits that are accessible to everyone. In recognition of her inspiring vision and commitment to social impact, she was also appointed as the Ambassador of the Youth Global Network, a platform that enables her to organise impactful programmes and events benefiting youth and underprivileged communities.
This remarkable series of achievements is a testament to the leadership potential, drive, and resilience cultivated through the Hong Leong Foundation’s holistic development journey.
