Invitation to Mentor: HLF Reach Out and Rise (ROAR) Mentoring Programme 2027

HLF ROAR 5 (2026 – 2027) Mentorship Program

We are excited to invite you to serve as a mentor for the upcoming HLF Reach Out and Rise (ROAR) Mentoring Programme (2026 – 2027), a collaborative initiative between the Hong Leong Foundation and FutureLab.

Our scholars are preparing to take their first steps into the professional arena. As a leader, your industry experience and guidance can help shape their career trajectories and prepare them for workplace expectations.

How You Will Guide Your Mentees?

The structured learning journey spans three key phases where your expertise will be invaluable:

  • Part 1: Developing Career Plans – Reviewing scholar goals, discussing pathways, and sharing industry realities.
  • Part 2: Applying for Jobs – Providing constructive feedback on their CVs, LinkedIn profiles, and job search strategies.
  • Part 3: Preparing for Their First Role – Discussing workplace expectations, professional relationship management, and early career habits.

Program Commitment

  • Timeline: The program spans from November 2026 to July 2027.
  • Onboarding: New to mentoring? No need to worry! Mentors will be given training, guides, and support on mentoring best practices, key milestones, how to run sessions, and program expectations.
  • Mentor-Mentee Matching: Each mentor will support two mentees. Matching considers scholars’ educational background and career interests alongside your professional experience.
  • Cadence: You will meet with your assigned mentees for 6 core mentoring sessions (typically once a month).
