Job Description:
– To operate and monitor steam boilers and utility systems from the control room according to approved procedures.
– To ensure safe and efficient boiler operation in compliance with Steam Boiler Operator Grade 1 requirements and statutory regulations.
– To monitor boiler parameters such as pressure, temperature, water level, and fuel usage.
– To respond to alarms, trips, and abnormal conditions promptly and take necessary corrective actions.
– To carry out boiler start‑up, shutdown, and routine operational checks as required.
– To record operational data, log sheets, and shift handover information accurately.
– To coordinate with field operators and maintenance teams for inspection, troubleshooting, and repair works.
– To support safety practices, emergency response actions, and statutory inspections.
– To assist in identifying operational improvements related to safety, efficiency, and reliability.
– To perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
– To lead 5S zone members for group activities to sustain 3.5 points in housekeeping & VSP (Visual Standard Procedure).
– To provide guidance and on-the-job support to junior operators or trainees when required.
– Report to the Project Manager (WHR).
– 5S – Adherence and participation in 5S activities.
Job Requirements:
– Valid Steam Boiler Operator Grade 1 Certificate or Grade 2 Certificate (mandatory)
– A diploma or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Power Plant Technology, or a related field is preferred.
– Minimum 4-5 years of working experience in boiler operation, utility plant, power plant, or heavy industry (cement, manufacturing, or similar).
– Strong knowledge of steam boiler systems, auxiliaries, and safety devices.
– Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations in the cement industry.
– Ability to read and interpret operating parameters, P&ID drawings, and technical manuals.
– Strong communication and teamwork skills, especially for shift handover and coordination with field teams.
– Basic computer skills for reporting, logging, and documentation.
